Affiliate marketing is much easier now with the internet at your disposal. It's much easier now than in the days when people had to use telephones and other media to get updates on their programs.
Assuming the affiliate works from home, a typical day would look something like this:
After waking up and having breakfast, they turn on the computer to check for any new developments in their business. Has new commission been earned overnight? Great! It's a good way to start the day with productivity in mind.
The marketer may have new updates and statistics to track. If something is broken, let's fix it right away so we can focus our affiliate time on more important things, like marketing ASAP!
When using a website to generate traffic or sales, its health must be checked. Marketers know that a well-functioning site is key to earning commissions, especially if it is the initial point of contact with potential buyers and commission generators.
The affiliate marketer remembers that there are questions from visitors that need answering. This must be done quickly. Nothing turns off a customer more than an unanswered email.
To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, more attention must be paid to inquiries. Nobody wants to be ignored, and customers are not always the most patient people. The answer should be quick yet professional and friendly.
As an affiliate, your main job is marketing, so there is not always a need to serve customers. The product providers handle the customers. However, it all depends on how you market those products. Some affiliates actively consult with potential buyers and must therefore deal with customers directly.
You see, affiliate marketing is a flexible business model. It can quickly pull you into the role of a salesperson and product consultant.
While completing all the necessary tasks, the marketer logs on to a chat room where they interact with other affiliates and individuals in the same program. There, they can discuss the best ways to promote their products.
Tip: Affiliates need to exchange ideas with each other to discover new trends and strategies. The Affiliness community is a good place to interact with other affiliates.
There is always something new to learn, and it is an ongoing process. Sharing tips and advice is a good way to show support. Others may be enticed to join by the ongoing discussion. There's no harm in exploring future opportunities.
The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it's time for affiliate marketers to see what's new in the market. This will be written about in the marketer's publication, which will be distributed to old and new customers.
These publications are also an important tool for keeping up to date with newly introduced products. The marketer has started a sale and promotion that customers may be interested in. They also have to keep up with the deadlines for these sales written in the publications.
Now is the time to show appreciation to those who helped the marketer with promotions and increasing sales. Nothing beats mentioning the people, their sites, and the processes that made everything work.
This will, of course, be published in the newsletters. It may also be posted on the blog or on social media, as affiliates are usually very active on social media. Social media is a very strong marketing channel that can be used for free to drive sales.
Time flies. I missed lunch, but I'm quite content with the tasks I've completed. A day of an affiliate marketer is busy.
- The most time is spent on marketing, which takes up about 50% of the workday.
- 25% percent goes to checking and monitoring the running affiliate business.
- Another 25 percent is spent on finding ideas, communicating with other marketers and potential revenue opportunities, and other business-related tasks.
Okay, so this may not all be done in one day. But it gives you an idea of how a dedicated affiliate marketer spends the day.
Who said affiliate marketing is easy? It certainly wasn't me...
